"Yeah, I stopped applying Jerry to the downward bound zone system because it was ridiculous ... " said one legendary climber. Jerry Marquez achieved the Triple Crown in his late teens , became a famous guide on the Continental Divide Trail, and was nicknamed "Mouse" for his small body and the way he walked lightly on mountain trails. There are surprisingly few photos of him at that time, when he is said to have hated photography, but one precious photo from when he was active as a rock climber in Yosemite was somehow discovered in Hakuba, Nagano Prefecture. Now it is hard to believe that this is the popular Jerry Marquez, and there was a lot of excitement over the authenticity of the photo, with people asking, "Is this the Marquez?" However, Jerry Ukai, one of the few Japanese people who knew Marquez in his younger days, said in his usual tone, "Yes, this is Marquez when he was young, right?" and the matter was settled and it was confirmed as Marquez. To commemorate this whole incident, Hakuba-based QUIET SPORT , which discovered the photo , has commissioned TACOMA FUJI RECORDS to make a special T- shirt.
